会社で、男の人が女の人に話しています。2時になっても会議が終らない場合、女の人は何をしなければなりませんか。

男：加藤さん、会議室、予約入ってないって言ってたよね。急な会議でね。使わせてもらうから、受付にそう伝えてといて。

女：はい。

男：それと、2時に石原工業の中村さんが見えたら、応接室にお通しして。2時までには、会議終ると思うけど、長引いたら、この書類をお渡しして、目を通していただいて。

女：はい。

男：悪いけど、会議室、お茶3つお願い。

2時になっても会議が終らない場合、女の人は何をしなければなりませんか。

1.会議室の予約をする

2.客を応接室に通す

3.客に書類を渡す

4.会議室にお茶を出す

Vocabulary :

応接室（おうせつしつ）: the reception room

Translation for Reference :

At the company, a man is talking to a woman. What should the woman do if the meeting does not end at 2 o’clock?

Man: Mrs. Kato, you said that the meeting room is still not reserved, right? Please tell the receptionist that the room is used for a sudden meeting.

Woman: Yes.

Man: And if you see Mr. Nakamura of The Ishihara company, please take him to the reception room. I think the meeting will end by 2 o’clock, but if it lasts longer please give this document to him for taking a look at it.

Woman: Yes.

Man: Excuse me, please bring to the meeting room 3 cups of tea.

Question: What should the woman do if the meeting does not end at 2 o’clock?

1. Making a meeting room reservation

2. Taking the customer to the reception office

3. Giving the document to the customer

4. Serving tea in the meeting room.

1. Catch the topic and the question :

The situation taking place here is:

At the company, a man is talking to a woman.

The question is:

2時になっても会議が終らない場合、女の人は何をしなければなりませんか。

What should the woman do if the meeting does not end at 2 o’clock?

2. Note the main ideas:

Based on the topic, you need to focus on important key words relating to the time (2 o’clock) and the woman’s actions.

2時（２じ）: 2 o’clock

中村さん（なかむらさん）: Mr. Nakamura

応接室（おうせつしつ）: the reception office

2時までに（２じまでに）: before 2 o’clock

会議終る（かいぎおわる）: The meeting is over

長引く（ながひき）: to prolong, last long (the meeting)

書類（しょるい）: document

3. Choosing the answer:

+ What to do if the meeting does not end at 2 o’clock = What to do if the meeting prolongs?

+ According to what the man said, he thought that the meeting will be over by 2 o’clock ( 2時までには、会議終ると思うけど). Then he told the woman to give the document to Mr. Nakamura (この書類をお渡しして) if the meeting lasts longer (長引いたら).

So we choose answer  3. 客に書類を渡す
