JLPT N3 Grammar lesson 11. Hi everyone! In this article, Learn Japanese daily will introduce you to the JLPT N3 Grammar.

Structure 51 :



I remember I used to do V a lot.
To show a heart filled memory of the speaker.
Normally used to show the speaker’s deep feelings.

For example:

Kodomo no koro wa yoku kawa de asonda monoda.
When I was little, I used to play by the river.

Gakusei jidai wa mainichi toshokan e tootta monda.
When I was a student, I used to go to the library everyday.

Structure 52:



By the way, en passant.

For example:

Sanpo no tsuide ni, kono tegami o dashite kite kuremasenka.
En passant, can you help me send this letter while going for a jog?

Yuubinkyoku e itta tsuide ni, hagaki o katte kita.
On the way to the post office, I bought a post card.

Structure 53 :



Everytime ~/ whenever ~

For example:

Kaimono no tabi ni, fukuro o takusan morau.
Whenever going shopping, there will be a lot of bags.

Kono kyoku o kiku tabi ni, furusato o omoidasu.
Everytime listening to this song, I feel nostalgic for my hometown.

Structure 54 :



Just when/ right at the moment when V then ~
Followed by a sudden change, not used for changes that are planned a head.

For example:

Mado o aketa totan, tsuyoi kaze ga haitte kita.
Right when I opened the window, a strong wind blew in.

Osake o nonda totan, kao ga akaku natta.
Just when I take a sip of alcohol, my face turns red.

Structure 55 :



Right at the moment, just as ~
Right in the middle of an action, something happens unexpectedly.

For example:

Shokuji no saichuu ni, kyaku ga kita.
Just as we were having a meal, a guest came.

Kaigi o shite iru saichuu ni keitaidenwa ga natta.
Right in the middle of the meeting, the phone rang.
