JLPT N2 Grammar lesson 25. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N2 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practise.

Structure 121:

V/ A/ N (short form) に+ 決まっている/違いない/相違ない

Definitely ~/ No doubt ~

For example:

Ano chiimu ga katsu ni kimatte iru.
That team will definitely win.

Kare ga yatta ni chigai nai.
He must do it.

Kare ga hannin ni soui nai.
He must be the culprit.

Structure 122:

V/ A/ N (short form) +とは限らない

Not necessarily always.

For example:

Aite ga yowai chiimu deattemo, kanarazu katsu to wa kagiranai.
Even though the opponent is weak but it doesn’t necessarily mean we will win.

Amari tsukawanai hyougenda ga, kanarazu shimo tesuto ni denai to wa kagiranai.
Even those vocabulary are rarely used but that doesn’t necessarily mean they won’t be put in the exam.

Structure 123:

Vる/ Vるより + ほかない/ほかはない

There is only one way / There is no other way.

For example:

Zenryoku o tsukushita. Ato wa inoru yori hoka nai.
I have tried my best. All we can do now is pray.

Mou ato ni wa modorenai. Zenshin suru yori hoka nai.
I can’t go back. There is no way other than to go forward.

Structure 124:

Because/ due to.

For example:

Goukaku shita no wa, kare no doryoku no kekka ni hoka naranai.
He passed the exam due to his efforts.

Kare ga anata o karakau no wa, masani aijou hyougen ni hoka naranai.
He picks on you because he wants to show his affection towards you.

Structure 125:

Nを はじめ/はじめとして/はじめとするN

The first is N, N comes first.

For example:

Kaigi ni wa chuugoku o hajime, ajia no kunigunu ga sanka shita.
In the convention, China is the first country to participate, and then South East Asian countries.

Wagakuni de wa, yakyuu o hajime to shite, sakkaa ya tenisu nado, samazamana supootsu ga sakan dearu.
My country is good at base ball, and then football, tennis and other sports.
