テレビの番組中に、地震情報が入りました。情報の内容と合うものはどれですか。

自動音声 : 緊急地震速報です。強い揺れに警戒してください。緊急地震速報です。強い揺れに警戒してください。

アナウンサー : ただいま、地震の情報が入りました。長野県で地震が観測されています。そして、群馬県、埼玉県、神奈川県東部の皆さん、強い揺れに警戒してください。身の安全を確保してから、火を消してください。東京のスタジオも揺れていますね。

情報の内容と合うものはどれですか。

１．震源は長野県である。

２．津波警報が出ている。

３．関東地方は震度３である。

４．東京は影響がない。

Vocabulary :

震源（しんげん） : hypocentre (of an earthquake)

揺れる（ゆれる） : to shake, to sway

Earthquake information was broadcast on a TV program. Which one matches the content of the information?

Announcer : The earthquake information has just arrived. An earthquake has been observed in Nagano Prefecture. Also, everyone in Gunma, Saitama, and Eastern Kanagawa, please be wary of strong vibration. Please put out the fire after ensuring your safety. The Tokyo studio is also shaking.

Which one matches the content of the information?

1.The epicenter of the earthquake is in Nagano Prefecture.

2.Tsunami warning is being broadcast.

3.The earthquake in Kanto region has a seismic intensity of 3.

4.Tokyo is not affected.

In order to understand and do this form of exercise effectively, you can apply the following steps:

With this exercise, we can apply the exclusion method. The content of the announcement was introduced at the beginning of the exercise : テレビの番組中に、地震情報が入りました。(Earthquake information was broadcast on a TV program). So we immediately eliminate the answer: ２．津波警報が出ている。

Then, according to keywords, we can eliminate the answer: ３．関東地方は震度３である。 (Because there’s no information about vibration), and the answer: ４．東京は影響がない。 (Because the announcer said [東京のスタジオも揺れていますね] – The Tokyo studio is also shaking -> Tokyo is affected).

So we choose: １．震源は長野県である。
