家族３人が、休みについて話しています。
子：今度の日曜、海に行きたい！
父：海か、混むぞー
母：えー。この辺の海って、きれいじゃないし…。うーん、山を歩くっていうのはどう？
子：それじゃ泳げないからつまんないよねー
父：山もいいんね。お弁当持っていって、きれいな空気すって。
子：泳ぎたいよう！！
母：だから、海はあんまりきれいじゃないし、混んで大変って言ってるでしょ。がまんしてよ。映画はどう？帰りに、デパートでほしいもの買って…。
子：えー、じゃ、山でいい。山に川があるでしょ。
父：川で泳ぐのは、危ないからね…うーん、じゃ、こうしよう。ちょっと高級なホテルのプールに行くっていうのはどうだ？そこでおいしいもの食べて。
母：いいわねー
子：ぼく、泳げるんだったら、どこでもいい。
父：じゃ、決まったね。
家族は、日曜日に何をすることに決めましたか。
１．混むのをがまんして海に行く
２．デパートに行って買い物をする
３．お弁当を持って山に行く
４．ホテルのプールに行く

Translation for Reference :
Three people are talking about the holiday.
Child: I want to go to the sea next Sunday!
Dad: Sea? It’s very crowded.
Mom: Uhm..The sea of this area is not beautiful … Well, what about going climbing ?
Child: So I can’t swim. It’s boring
Dad: Mountain is ok. Bring lunch box, enjoy fresh air.
Children: I want to swim !!
Mom: That’s why I say that the sea is not clean?, it’s crowded and makes us feel tired. Please bear with it. How about watching movies? I will buy what you want at the department store on the way home ….
Child: Then mountain is fine. There are rivers in the mountain, that right?
Dad: It’s dangerous to swim in the river … Well, let’s do this way. How about going to the pool of a quite luxury hotel? Eat some delicious food there.
Mom: Good idea!
Child: Anywhere I can swim is okay.
Dad: Let’s decide like this.

Type of lesson: Summarize comments
In order to understand and make this type of lesson effectively, you can apply the following steps:
1.Note the main ideas
In this type, you need to get key words about each option and opinion about those options.
海：混む (crowded)、きれいじゃない (not beautiful)
山：つまんない (boring)、お弁当持って (bring lunch box) 、きれいな空気すって (enjoy fresh air).
買い物：
ホテルのプール：いいわね (okay, fine), おいしいもの食べて ( eat delicious food)
2. Choose the answer:
Answer: ４．ホテルのプールに行く
Basing on the key words we have, perform the analysis as follows:
Sea: parents and child disagreed with each other’s opinions (混む、きれいじゃない)
Mountain: parents didn’t give opinions, child disagreed (つまんない). After that child agreed(山でいい), but father disagreed (川で泳ぐのは、危ないからね)
Go shopping: parents didn’t give opinions, child gave other option(山でいい)
Go to the hotel swimming pool: parents agreed (いいわね), child also agreed (泳げるんだったら、どこでもいい)
The problem is that the whole family decided where to go on Sunday, so we will choose the answer agreed by all 3 members.
Therefore, answer is 4. ホテルのプールに行く (go to the hotel swimming pool)
