Meaning and how to use :
Describe the meaning “In such a difficult situation, the only way is … there is not any other way”.
For example
何の会社も私に採用してくれないので自分で店を作るよりない。
Nani no kaisha mo watashi ni saiyou shi te kure nai node jibun de mise o tsukuru yori nai.
No company employs me, so the only way for me is opening my own store.
今日はつい寝坊してしまうのでお金がかかってもタクシーで行くよりない。
kyou ha tsui nebou shi te shimau node okane ga kakatte mo takushī de iku yori nai.
I slept in today, so I must call a cab despite the expensive price.
この問題は誰に聞いても答えが得られないので自分で調べるよりない。
kono mondai ha dare ni kii te mo kotae ga erare nai node jibun de shiraberu yori nai.
It’s no use asking anyone for the answer of this question, the only way is find it my self.
この失敗は誰にも咎めることができない。自分の責任だというよりない。
kono shippai ha dare ni mo togameru koto ga deki nai. Jibun no sekinin da to iu yori nai.
I can’t blame anyone for this failure. It’s my own responsibility.
日本に住んでいるなんてもうできないので帰国するよりない。
nippon ni sun de iru nante mou deki nai node kikoku suru yori nai.
I can’t live in Japan anymore, so I must go back to my country.
Note: There’s another way to say, which is: 「しかない」、「以外にない」
