Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning “or whatever, or something like that…”. It is often used with the names of something or someone that we don’t remember correctly.

Example:

山田さんとやらから電話がありますよ。
Yamada san to yara kara denwa ga arimasu yo.
There is a phone call from someone called Yamada.

この料理は「ビビグッス」とやら呼ばれます。
Kono ryouri ha “bibigussu” to yara yobaremasu.
This dish is called “Bibigukksu” or something like that.

あのブランドは「XXX」とやらです。
Ano burando ha “XXX” to yara desu.
That brand is “XXX” or something like that.

佐藤さんとやらは君に伝えたいことがありますよ。
Satou san to yara ha kimi ni tsutaetai koto ga arimasu yo.
Someone called Sato or something has something to tell you.

この機械は「ACE]とやら呼ばれます。
Kono kikai ha “ACE” to yara yobaremasu.
This machine is called “ACE” or something like that.
