Lesson 4 : 来週の木曜日はわたしの誕生日です。(raishuu no mokuyoubi wa watashi no tanjoubi desu) : Next Thursday is my birthday.

1. 絵と合っている会話に〇、ちがうものに✕をつけてください。
E to atte iru kaiwa ni 〇, chigau mono ni ✕ wo tsukete kudasai.
Look at the picture. If the dialogue is correct, write 〇, if not ✕.

A : Excuse me, what time is it now?
B : Well, it’s seven twenty-one.
A : So the next bus will come at seven twenty-four, right?

4. まり子さんの誕生日はいつですか。カレンダーを見ながら会話を聞いて答えてください。
Mariko-san no tanjoubi wa itsu desuka. Karendaa wo minagara kaiwa wo kiite kotaete kudasai.
Look at the calendar. When is Mariko’s birthday? Write the date in the blank.

もう一度会話を聞いて、質問に答えてください。はじめに少し質問を読んでください。
Mouichido kaiwa wo kiite, shitsumon ni kotaete kudasai. Hajimeni sukoshi shitsumon wo yonde kudasai.

男：ええっ、それじゃ来週は５月ですね。
otoko : ee-, soreja raishuu wa gogatsu desu ne.
Man : Huh, then it’s May next week.

女：あっ、来週の木曜日はわたしの誕生日です。
onna : a-, raishuu no mokuyoubi wa watashi no tanjoubi desu.
Woman : Oh, Thursday next week is my birthday.

男：へえ、まり子さんの誕生日は「子どもの日」ですね。
otoko : hee, Mariko-san no tanjoubi wa “kodomo no hi” desu ne.
Man : Really? Mariko’s birthday is on Children’s day, right?

女：ええ。来週から二十歳です。
onna : ee. Raishuu kara hatachi desu.
Woman : Yes. I will be 20 years old next week.

男：そうですか。もう子どもじゃなくて、おとなですね。おめでとう。
otoko : soudesuka. Mou kodomo janakute, otona desu ne. Omedetou.
Man : I see. So you are an adult, not a child anymore. Congratulations.

Kyou wa gogatsu mikka, “kenpoukinenbi” desu. Kyou kara asatte made oyasumi desu. Asatte wa “kodomo no hi” desu. Sengetsu no nijuukunichi mo oyasumi deshita. “Midori no hi” deshita.
Today is May 3rd, the Constitution Day. It’s holiday from today to the day after tomorrow. The day after tomorrow is Children’s Day. The 29th of last month was also a holiday. It was Greenery Day.
