Opening

Watashi no daisukina hon ga kieyou to shite iru.
My favorite books are about to disappear. With the spread of the Internet and the development of information terminals, the digitization of books has really begun.

Sudeni watashitachi no nichijou seikatsu no naka ni mo, sore wa keitai shousetsu ya denshi komikku to iu katachi de arawarete iru.
It has already appeared in the form of cellphone novels or electronic comics in our daily life.

However, is the digitization of books really necessary?

Sou kangaeta kekka, tadori tsuita ketsuron wa, hon wanaku natte wa naranai to iu kotoda.
After thinking, I  came to the conclusion that books must not disappear.

Body

The replacement of paper books with information devices will have a major impact on society.

Shoten ya insatsujo, unsou-gyou nado no hon no ryuutsuu to hanbai ni kakawaru kigyou ga keiei-nan ni ochiiru koto mo kangae rareru.
Companies involved in the distribution and sale of books, such as bookstores, printing shops, and transportation business, may fall into financial difficulties.

Gakkou no jugyou no yousu mo ippen suru kamo shirenai.
School lessons may change completely.

Teachers will give lessons on an electronic blackboard and students will type letters on the computer instead of writing in a notebook.

Kitto tsuugaku kaban wa karuku naru no darouga, kaban no omomi ni mo chanto imi wa aru hazu da.
Surely the school bag will be lighter, but the weight of the bag should be meaningful.

For a person who has gotten used to heavy bag like me, I find it uncomfortable.

Yahari, watashi wa hon wa hon no mamadeari tsudzukete hoshii to omou.
After all, I want books to continue to be books as they are.

Because you will be comfortable with the weight you feel when picking up a book.

Jibun no seichou to tomoni, te ni suru hon no atsumi wa mashite iku.
As you grow up, the thickness of the books you own also increases.

Dokuha suru koto no konnan-sa ni, omowazu make-sou ni narinagara mo, saigo no peeji ni tadori tsuku tassei-kan wa hoka de wa erarenai mono da.
Although it seems that you are about to lose to the difficulty of finishing reading a book, a sense of accomplishment to reach the last page is something you can’t get anywhere else.

Supiidina tenkai ni attou sa re, nokorisukunaku natta peeji wo oshimu you ni yomi susumeru kankaku mo, watashi wa hon kara mananda.
I have also learned from the book the feelings of being impressed by speedy development of the content of the book and regret about the remaining pages.

Mata osanai toki no watashi ga, itazura ni tsukete shimatta orime ya rakugaki-tachi ni, sūnengo ni deatta toki no natsukashi-sa wa, hon to tomoni ayunda watashi no kiroku no akashi demo aru.
And after a few years, the feeling of being nostalgic when seeing the creases I made or scribbles I wrote on a book when I was young were a testament to my record of walking with that book.

Tashika ni, sakuhin wa sakusha no monodearuga, te ni shita hon wa watashi no monoda to iikiritai noda.
A work definitely belongs to the author, but I want to say that the book I have owned is mine.

Ending

Watashi no heya no hondana ni wa takusan no hon ga narabu.
There are many books on the bookshelf in my room.

Sono hon no hitotsuhitotsu ga, watashi wo sasaete kureru yuujin de ari, ooku no koto wo oshietekureru sensei demo aru.
Each of the books is a friend who supports me and a teacher who teaches me many things.

Atarashii hon wo hiraku toki no, kasukana inku no nioi to gishitto kami no kishimu oto wa, watashi to hon to no deai no aisatsuda.
When opening a new book, the faint smell of ink and the squeaky sound of the paper is a greeting between me and that book.
