Grammar structure number 41 :
~にくい~
Formation :
Vます (remove ます)+にくい
Explanation :
hard to do something,
にくい used like adjectives that end with い
Example and meaning :
1.その仕事(しごと)はやりにくい。
That job is very hard to do.
2.その条件(じょうけん)なら踊(おど)りにくい
It’s very hard to dance in that condition.
Grammar structure number 42 :
~によると、~そうです
Formation :
N+によると
Explanation :
According to..
used to express received information
doesn’t show the speaker’s emotion.
can replace によれば with によると and also can replace そうです with ようです/らしい
Example and meaning :
1.彼(かれ)の話(はなし)によると、あいつは結婚(けっこん)したそうです。
According to his words, he seems to be married.
2.ニュースによれば、首相(しゅしょう)はなくなったようです。
According to the news, the minister is dead.
Grammar structure number 43 :
~のに
Formation :
V(short form)+ のに
Explanation :
for something, to do something…
Example and meaning :
1.このはさみは紙(かみ)を切(き)るのに使(つか)います。
This scissor is for cutting paper.
2.この宿題(しゅくだい)を仕上(しあ)げるのに2時間(じかん)が必要(ひつよう)です。
It takes 2 hours to finish all this homework.
Grammar structure number 44 :
~ば~ほど~
Formation :
Verb remove る + ば~Vる+ほど~
Aい(remove い)+ければ~Aいほど
A(な)remove N + ならば
Explanation :
The more.. the more
express the continuous changes of 2 things, must be the same part of speech (verb/noun/adjective)
Example and meaning :
1.よく勉強べんきょうすればするほど上手じょうずになっている。
The more you study, the more brilliant you become.
2.すべてのものには高(たか)ければ高(たか)くほどいいと言(い)えません。
You can’t really say the more expensive things are the better they be.
Grammar structure number 45 :
~ばあいに~
Formation :
Vる+ばあいに
Vのばあいに
Explanation :
in case
expresses hypothetical situation
Example and meaning :
1.遅刻(ちこく)する場合(ばあい)に連絡(れんらく)してくれる。
In case of being late, contact me.
2.地震(じしん)の場合(ばあい)に机(つくえ)のしたに隠(かく)れてください。
In case of earthquakes, hide under the table.
