Vるな
Formation :
Vる+な
Explanation :
prohibit somebody to do something
Example and meaning :
1.ここに叫(さけ)ぶな。
Do not yell here.
2.止(と)まるな
Do not stop.
Grammar structure number 62 :
Vれる probability form
Formation :
V group I: line う~ line え
V group II: Vます( remove ます)+られる
V group III: する→できる
来る→くれる
Explanation :
Probability form: can/can’t do something
Example and meaning :
1. 早(はや)く起(お)きられません。
I can’t wake up early.
運転(うんてん)することができる。
I can drive.
Grammar structure number 63 :
てもいい
Formation :
Vてもいい
Explanation :
can do whatever, if か is at the end of the sentence then it’s a interrogative sentence to ask for permission to do something.
Example and meaning :
1.ここにタバコを吸(す)ってもいいです。
You can smoke however you want here.
2.そのケーキ食(た)べてもいいですか。
Can I eat that cake?
