JLPT N2 Grammar lesson 21. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N2 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practise.

Structure 101:

V(minus ます)/ Vれ + そうにない/そうもない


Don’t think that/ Doesn’t sound like.

For example:

Saikin shigoto ga sugoku isogashikute, dousoukai ni ike sou ni nai yo.
Lately I’ve been busy so I think I can’t make it to the reunion party.

Deki sou mo nai koto o, dekiru to itte shimatte koukai shite iru.
I regret a lot that I said I could do something unlikely to be done.

Structure 102:

Nに/ Vるに + 際して/際し/際してのN


At the moment (that), when.

For example:

Omoushikomi ni saishite wa, shashin ga hitsuyou to narimasu.
When signing up, photos are required.

A-shi wa nihon o houmon suru ni saishi, yorokobi o katatta.
When Mr. A visited Japan, I had talked about my pleasure.

Structure 103:

Nに 基づいて/基づき/基づくN/基づいたN


Based on, according to ~

For example:

Kono kouji wa shi no keikaku ni motodzuite susumeraremasu.
This construction will be carried out according to the city’s plan.

Naganen no keiken ni motodzuki shinnyuu shain o kyouiku suru.
Based on many years of experience, I will be able to train new employees.

Structure 104:

Nに 応じて/応じ/応じたN


According to ~/ Suitable for.

For example:

Sofuto wa, hitsuyou ni oujite daunroodo shite kudasai.
Download a software if needed.

Tesuto kekka ni motodzuki, nouryoku ni oujita kurasu ni wakeraremasu.
Based on the test results, you can divide the class into groups according to the ability.

Structure 105:

Nの 下で/下/下に


Under ~

For example:

Kodomo tachi ga aozora no shita de genki ni asonde iru.
The kids are playing happily under the blue sky.

Tanaka sensei  no goshidou no shita, kenkyuu ronbun o kaite imasu.
Under Teacher Tanaka’s conduct, I’m writing my research essay.
