Meaning and how to use :
Expresses the meaning “obviously/ just like the speaker said/ just like expected”. Used to express one’s expectations come true.
Examples:
事件の後で彼は何か怪しいことがあったと思う。案の定、彼は犯人だった。
Jiken no nochi de kare ha nani ka ayashii koto ga atta to omou. Annojou, kare ha hannin datta.
I think there was something suspicious about him after the incident. Just like I expected, he was the culprit.
誰がここに向いて歩いてきます。案の定、母だ。
Dare ga koko ni mui te arui te ki masu. Annojou, haha da.
Someone’s coming this way. As expected, it’s mom.
案の定、山田さんは約束をやぶった。
Annojou, yamada san ha yakusoku o yabutta.
Just like I expected, Mr. Yamada broke the promise.
案の定、相手は私が出した条件を認めない。
Annojou, aite ha watashi ga dashi ta jouken o mitome nai.
As expected, the opponent didn’t approve of the conditions that I proposed.
僕はあの人はぜひに断ると思います。案の定、彼女は断った。
Boku ha ano hito ha zehi ni kotowaru to omoi masu. Annojou, kanojo ha kotowatta.
I thought that person would decline for sure. Just like I expected, she declined.
