Examples:

Benkyou yori wa asobi ni iku no hou ga sukida.
I like going to play rather than studying.
あの人は思ったよりもやさしいだ。
Ano hito wa omottayori mo yasashii da.
He is more gentle than I thought.
マンガを読むことよりはアニメを見るのほうが好きだ。
Manga wo yomu koto yori wa anime wo miru no hou ga sukida.
I like watching anime rather than reading manga.
彼女は想像したよりも親切だ。
Kanojo wa souzou shita yori mo shinsetsuda.
She is kinder than I thought.
あの先生は言われたよりも厳しい。
Ano sensei wa iwa reta yori mo kibishii.
That teacher is stricter than everyone said about him.
