Meaning and how to use :
This structure is used in the form「X（より）Yのほうがよほど」. It means that Y has a much higher degree of X. Often hope for Y more.
Examples:
妹より私のほうがよほど臆病だ。
Imouto yori watashi no hou ga yohodo okubyou da.
I am even more timid than my sister.
ミスをした田中さんより関係ない僕のほうがよほど上司に叱られる恐れがあって緊張している。
Misu wo shita Tanaka-san yori kankeinai boku no hou ga yohodo joushi ni shikara reru osore ga atte kinchou shite iru.
I who was unrelated person was even more nervous about being scolded by my superior than Mr. Tanaka who made the mistake.
彼女より僕のほうがよほど貧乏だ。
Kanojo yori boku no hou ga yohodo binbou da.
I am poorer than her.
西村さんより山田さんのほうがよほどは責任の意識が高いです。
Nishimura-san yori Yamada-san no hou ga yohodo wa sekinin no ishiki ga takaidesu.
Mr Yamada is more conscious of his responsible than Nishimura.
水面より海底のほうがよほど圧力が高いだ。
Minamo yori kaitei no hou ga yohodo atsuryoku ga takai da.
The pressure of the water under the sea floor is higher than the water on the surface.
Note: has the same meaning with「ずっと」.
