Meaning and how to use :
Describe a strong negative expression: “nothing/not at all…” that relates to things and events. In case of relating to people, we use the form「だれひとり…ない」
Example:
やりたいことはなにひとつできない。
yaritai kohoha hitotsu dekinai
I can’t do a single thing that I want to do.
この本をなにひとつ読んだことがない。
kono hon wo nani hitotsu yonda koto ga nai
I have never read any of these books.
テーブルに並んでいるお菓子はなにひとつ食べなかった。
te-buru ni narande iru okashi ha nani hitotsu tabenakatta
I didn’t eat any sweets on the table.
正しい道をなにひとつ選びません。
tadashii michi wo nani hitotsu erabimasen
I don’t choose any right paths.
だれひとり簡単に信じないほうがいい。
kare hitori kantan ni shinjinai houga ii
You shouldn’t trust anyone simply.
