Meaning and how to use Japanese とあれば grammar toareba :
Expresses the meaning “If in that situation then this action is obvious.” This structure is used to describe some special situations.
Examples:
山田さんの質問とあれば、答えないわけにはいかない。
Yamada san no shitsumon to are ba, kotae nai wake ni ha ika nai.
If the question is from Mr. Yamada then I have to answer/reply.
恩師の要求とあれば、一所懸命実験するしかない。
Onshi no youkyuu to are ba, isshokenmei jikken suru shika nai.
If it’s a request from my honoured teacher then I can only do my best to conduct the experiment.
大好きな選手がもう一度試合に参加するとあれば、仕事を休んでも見に行きます。
Daisuki na senshu ga mouichido shiai ni sanka suru to are ba, shigoto o yasun de mo mi ni iki masu.
If my favorite player plays again then even if I have to take a day off work, I’ll go watch him/her.
母の病状がよくなれるとあれば、どんなにお金がかかっても受け入れる。
Haha no byoujou ga yoku nareru to are ba, donnani okane ga kakatte mo ukeireru.
If my mother’s condition gets better then no matter how much money I’ll pay.
私を助けた人の頼みとあれば、断るわけにはいかない。
Watashi o tasuke ta hito no tanomi to are ba, kotowaru wake ni ha ika nai.
If it’s a request from the person who helped me then I can’t deny.
