Meaning and how to use :

Express the meaning “only, just, there’s only…”. To show limitation, that beside what is mention, there’s nothing else

For example

200円だけでこの鉛筆が買えます。
Ni zero zero en dake de kono enpitsu ga kae masu.
We can buy this pencil with just 200 yens.

あの噂は事実かどうか彼だけ知っています。
ano uwasa ha jijitsu ka dou ka kare dake shitte i masu.
He’s the only one who knows whether that rumor is true.

今度だけ頼みますよ。
kondo dake tanomi masu yo.
I ask you for help only this time.

一人だけで行くのはいいです。
ichi nin dake de iku no ha ii desu.
Going alone is just ok.

あの人だけ社長の命令を知らないようだ。
ano hito dake shachou no meirei o shira nai you da.
Perhaps, that person is the only one who doesn’t know the director’s command.

Note: In case だけ goes with a clause, the verb must be in normal form.
If it’s used with particle,「を」and 「が」it’s combined: 「だけが」、「だけを」. Sometimes both particles are removed.
