Meaning and how to use :
It’s used to express invitation or respond to suggestion
For example
一緒に行きましょう。
Issho ni iki masho u.
Let’s go.
昨日の数学の宿題をやりましょう。
kinou no suugaku no shukudai o yari masho u.
LEt’s do the yesterday math excercise.
写真を撮りましょう。
shashin o tori masho u.
Let’s take a photograph together.
「一緒にコーヒーを飲みませんか。」ー「はい、飲みましょう。」
‘issho ni kōhī o nomi mase n ka.’ ? ‘hai, nomi masho u.’
“Let’s drink coffee” – “Yes, let’s do it.”
帰ったとき、うちに入る前に、「ただいま」と言いましょう。
kaetta toki, uchi ni hairu mae ni, ‘tadaima’ to ii masho u.
When we come home, before we come in let say “I’m back” together.
In some case it’s express the meaning urge, guide someone (especially with children). (in example 5)
