Describe the meaning “to do someone a favor”. this structure is often used to give information

For example

僕は知らない人に道を教えてもらった。
Boku ha shira nai hito ni michi o oshie te moratta.
I was directed by a stranger.

私は兄に車を買ってもらう。
watashi ha ani ni kuruma o katte morau.
I was bought a car by my brother.

ガールフレンドにショッピングしてもらう。
gārufurendo ni shoppingu shi te morau.
my girl go shopping for me

この人は父に珍しい本を貸してもらったのに、返すようとしないね。
kono hito ha chichi ni mezurashii hon o kashi te moratta noni, kaesu you to shi nai ne.
That man was lent a rare book from my dad and doesn’t tend to give it back.

祖母に昔とった写真を見せてもらう。
sobo ni mukashi totta shashin o mise te morau.
I was shown a photograph of my grandma when she was young.
