Meaning and how to use :

This structure is used to express the speaker’s intention.

Example:

来月引越しようと思う。
Raigetsu hikkoshishiyou to omou.
I think I will move next month.

会社を辞めようと思う。
Kaish awo yameyou to omou.
I think I will quit the company.

彼女と結婚しようと思う。
Kanojo to kekkonshiyou to omou.
I think I will marry her.

あの人にこの仕事を任せようと思っている。
Anohito ni kono shigoto wo makaseoyou to omotteiru.
I’m thinking of leaving this job to that person.

親に私が大学の不合格のことを話そうと思わない。
Oya ni watashi ga daigaku no fugoukaku no koto wo hanasou to omowanai.
I don’t think I will tell my parents that I failed university.

Note:
+) The form「Vかとおもう」 expresses the speaker’s hesitation and the form「Vようと(は)おもわない」 expresses that the speaker does not intend to do it.
+) This structure is similar to 「つもり」, but it is not used to talk about third person’s intention.
+) 「Vると思う」expresses the prediction, not the intention of the speaker.
