The following are some common use of な and ぞ.

Particle な

  1. Express prohibition

そんな悪いことをすな。

そんなわるいことをすな。
sonna warui koto o suna

Do not do such bad thing.
Note: な is generally used by male and may make your speech a little offensive。

触るな。
さわるな。
sawaru na.

Don’t touch it.

 2. Express command or ask

その写真私にも見せてくださいな。
そのしゃしんわたしにもみせてくださいな。
sono shashin watashi nimo misetekudasaina.

Please show me that picture!

 3. Express the feeling of the speaker

あなかがすいた。何か食べたいなあ。
あなかがすいた。なにかたべたいなあ。
anaka ga suita. nanika tabetainaa.

I was hungry. I want to eat something.

今日は暑くないな。
きょうはあつくないな。

kyo wa atsukunai na.

It’s not hot today.

 4. Seek the listeners’ agreement

その本は面白いんだな。
そのほんはおもしろいんだな。
sono hon omoshiroindana.

That book is interesting, isn’t it?

海に行きたいな。
うみにいきたいな。
sono hon omoshiroindana.
I really want to go to the sea

 5. Express agreement slightly

木村さんのこと私もそう思うな。
きむらさんのことわたしもそうおもうな。
kimurasan no koto watashi mo sou omouna.

About Kimura’s story, I think so too.

あの意見に私もはんたいな。
あのいけんにわたしもはんたいな。
ano iken ni watashi mo hantaina.

I also disagree with this opinion.

Particle ぞ

  1. Give order

帰るぞ。
かえるぞ
kaeruzo

Let’s go back!

勉強しますぞ。
べんきょうしますぞ。

benkyoushimasuzo.

Study!

 2. Use when talking alone (this way men often use)

この家何かおかしいぞ。
kono ie nanika okashiizo.
There’s something strange in this house.

ダイエットをするぞ。
daietto wo suruzo.
I will go on diet.
