Jlpt N3 vocabulary week 1. To make it easier for you to study, Learn Japanese Online has collected Japanese N3 vocabularies from many sources. Each lesson contains 10 words (It’s a nice quantity for you to study regularly. The post is devided in to 6 days (or 1 week).

Tips for studying :

– Study regularly, do review in the next day, next 3 days and what you learnt in 1 week

– Note down difficult words that you spend all the week to study without result, then keep it with you to study anywhere

– You should imagine how the word is used in real life situation, make a sentence, or several other good ways in : How to learn Japanese.

– Determination and effort will help you to be successful !

Jlpt N3 vocabulary week 1

1. JLPT N3 Vocabulary day 1

1. キッチン : Kitchen. Synonym : 台所(だいどころ)

2. 電子レンジ (でんしレンジ) : microwave oven. 電子 means “electron”​. レンジ is range – oven.

3. (御)茶碗 ((お)ちゃわん) : bowl

4. ワイングラス : wine glass

5. コーヒーカップ : coffee cup

6. 湯飲み (ゆのみ) : teacup. 湯 means hot water. 湯飲み means a cup made of porcelain, is usually used to keep boil water.

7. ガスレンジ/ガスコンロ : gas oven. ガス means gas.

8. ガラスのコップ : glass cup

9. レバー : lever; joystick​. Besides, it means liver (food).

10. 流し (ながし) : sink​. 流す means to drain; to pour; to spill; to shed (blood, tears)​. We wash our face in ながし.

2. JLPT N3 Vocabulary day 2

11. リビング/居間 (リビング/いま) : Living room . 居間 are 今 homophones, but are different in stress : 居間 stress on ま, while 今 stress on い.

12. 窓ガラス (まどガラス) : Window glass.

13. 雨戸 (あまど) : sliding storm shutter​. In Japan, sometime people used another door outside to block rain-water. It’s also called あまど.

14. 網戸 (あみど) : insect screen; mosquito screen. Is usually put outside the main window to stop insect from flying into house.

15. 天井 (てんじょう) : ceiling. Note : With caves, tunnels we use 天板.

16. 床 (ゆか) : Floor

17. コンセント : electrical outlet; wall socket; power plug

18. コード : cord

19. エアコン : air conditional

20. ヒーター : Heater

21. じゅうたん/カーペット : carpet

22. 水道の蛇口をひねる (すいどうのじゃぐちをひねる) : Turn the daucet

23. 水が凍る (みずがこおる) : Frozen water

24. 氷になる (こおりになる) : be frozen

25. 冷凍して保存する (れいとうしてほぞんする) : cool something for preserving

26. 残り物を温める (のこりものをあたためる) : Heat up food (heat up, reheat, …)

27. ビールを冷やす (ビールをひやす) : refrigerate beer

28. ビールが冷えている (ビールがひえている) : cold beer (beer is getting colder)

29. エアコンのリモコン : Air-con remote controler

30. スイッチ : Switch ( electrical, machine…)

31. 電源を入れる (でんげんをいれる) : turn on the power

32. 電源を切る (でんげんをきる) : turn off the power

33. じゅうたんを敷く (じゅうたんをしく) : spread the carpet

34. 部屋を温める (へやをあたためる) : warm the room up (turn on the heater…)

35. 暖房をつける (だんぼうをつける) : turn on the heater

36. クーラー/冷房が効いている (クーラー/れいぼうがきいている) : The air conditional has make the room colder

37. 日当たりがいい (ひあたりがいい) : sunny, get much sunlight

38. 日当たりが悪い (ひあたりがわるい) : sunless, dim light

39. 大さじ (おおさじ) : tablespoon

40. 小さじ (こさじ) : teaspoon

41. 包丁 (ほうちょう) : chopping-knife

42. まな板 (まないた) : cutting board

43. はかり : scales; weighing machine

44. 夕食のおかず (ゆうしょくのおかず) : food for dinner

45. 栄養のバランスを考える (えいようのバランスをかんがえる) : think about balance in nutrition

46. カロリーが高い食品 (カロリーがたかいしょくひn) : Food that contains much calories

47. はかりで量る (はかりではかる) : weight mesuring by a scale

48. 塩を少々入れる (しおをしょうしょういれる) : Add some salt

49. 調味料 (ちょうみりょう) : flavoring (e.g. salt, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, etc.)

50. 酒 (さけ) : Alcohol

51. 酢 (す) : vinegar

52. サラダ油 (サラダゆ) : salad oil

53. てんぷら油 (てんぷらあぶら) : oil used to make tempura

54. 皮をむく (かわをむく) : peel, skin, pare

55. 材料を刻む (ざいりょうをきざむ) : cut the material

56. 大きめに切る (おおきめにきる) : cut into large pieces

57. 3センチ(cm)幅に切る (3センチ(cm)はばにきる) : cut into pieces of 3cm

58. 味噌汁がぬるくなる (みそしるがぬるくなる) : soup Miso is getting cool

59. ラップをかぶせる/かける (ラップをかぶせる/かける) : wrap the food

60. ラップでくるむ : wrap food with wrapper
