Meaning and how to use :
Describe the meaning “every time I.. that” or “every..”. If it is used after verbs, the meaning is “every..”.
Examples:
最近忙しいから電話は10分ごとに鳴る。
Saikin isogashii kara denwa ha ichi zero fun goto ni naru.
I’m busy lately so the phone rings once every 10 minutes.
彼は二日ごとに私の家に遊びに来ます。
Kare ha ni nichi goto ni watashi no ie ni asobi ni ki masu.
He comes to my house every other day.
姉は外国に留学するので一年ごとに一度帰国されます。
Ane ha gaikoku ni ryuugaku suru node ichi nen goto ni ichido kikoku sare masu.
My sister goes study abroad so she returns home once every year.
僕に会うごとに、あの子はうれしそうに挨拶します。
Boku ni au goto ni, ano ko ha ureshi sou ni aisatsu shi masu.
That kid smiles and greets every time he/she meets me.
彼女は何か心配するように一歩ごとに振り向いた。
Kanojo ha nani ka shinpai suru you ni ichi
She turns and looks around at every step like she’s worrying about something.
