Meaning and how to use :

Describe decision, determination or choice to do something.

For example

やせるために明日5キロメート走ることにします。
Yaseru tame ni ashita go kiro mēto hashiru koto ni shi masu.
To be thin, I decided to run 5km each day.

経験があるためにアルバイトをすることにします。
keiken ga aru tame ni arubaito o suru koto ni shi masu.
To gain experience, I decided to do part time job.

彼とその話を言わないことにします。
kare to sono hanashi o iwa nai koto ni shi masu.
I decide to not tell him this.

親と未来の計画を述べることにしました。
oya to mirai no keikaku o noberu koto ni shi mashi ta.
I decided to express with my parent my plan in the future.

そんなに威張る人と交際しないことにする。
sonnani ibaru hito to kōsai shi nai koto ni suru.
I decided to not socialize with such an arrogrant person like him.
