Describe the meaning “a thing that changed from impossible state into possible state”. This structure often goes with the potential form.

Example:

今うまく英語を話せるようになりました。
Ima umaku eigo wo hanaseruyouninarimashita.
I can speak English well now.

上司は最近文句を言わないようになった。
Joushi ha saikin monku wo iwanai you ni natta.
Recently, my boss has not complaint anything.

現在私は日本の生活に慣れるようになった。
Genzai watashi ha nihon no seikatsu ni nareru youni natta.
I am now getting used to Japanese life.

子供のごろ溺れあがったので怖くて泳げないようになりました。
Kodomo no goro oboreagatta node kowakute oyogenai youni narimashita.
I was almost drowned when I was a kid, so I got scared and became unable to swim anymore.

以前はお酒を飲めないが、今飲めるようになりました。
Izen ha osake wo nomenai ga, ima nomeru you ni narimashita.
I can’t drink alcohol before, but now I can.
