Meaning and how to use :

1. Describe a state that reaches a good level, or is sufficiently suitable with something.

For example

A:「絵を掛け終わったか」
B:「もういいよ。見て」
Ei: ‘e o kakeowatta ka’
bī: ‘mou ii yo. Mi te’
A: “Have you finished hanging the picture?”
B : it is ok. look!

これでもういいですか。
kore demo uii desu ka.
Is this OK?

もういいよ。部屋に入ろ。
mou ii yo. Heya ni hairo.
Alright, come in!

2.Means “Okay, it’s enough”. Is usually used in case the speaker is disgusted with something. We can understand it variously in different cases.

For example

ああ、金のことはもういいよ。今回、僕は支払う。
aa, kin no koto ha mou ii yo. Konkai, boku ha shiharau.
Oh, I do not care about money any more. This time, I will pay.

うまい言葉で話すのはもういいですよ。行動で証明してください。
umai kotoba de hanasu no ha mou ii desu yo. Koudou de shoumei shi te kudasai.
You have told me enough romantic things. It’s high time you acted.

そんなに勝手にするのはもういいですよ。
sonnani katte ni suru no ha mou ii desu yo.
It’s enough you do it arbitrarily.
