Meaning and how to use :

If. Expressing the meaning “if in such a state like that …”. The following clauses are often negative situation, contrary to expectations.

Examples:

今日彼女に答えないようでは、本当に困る。
Kyou kanojo ni kotaenai yōde wa, hontouni komaru.
If I don’t answer her today, it’s really troublesome.

そのことは彼女に報告しないようでは、だめだ。
Sono koto wa kanojo ni houkoku shinai youde wa, dameda.
It is not possible not to report it to her.

お金を借りないようでは、その商品が買えない。
Okane wo karinai youde wa, sono shouhin ga kaenai.
If you don’t borrow money, you can’t buy that item.

両親の意見を聞くようでは、自分の努力にならない。
Ryoushin no iken o kiku youde wa, jibun no doryoku ni naranai.
If you ask for your parents’ opinions, it is no longer your own effort.

まじめにあの人と話しないようでは、今度の小さい困りはおおきくなる。
Majime ni ano hito to hanashinai youde wa, kondo no chiisai komari wa ookiku naru.
If you don’t talk seriously with that person, this little trouble will get bigger.
