Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning “something hasn’t reached the level that the speaker wants yet although it is not really bad”.

Example:

待遇がいいですが、給料はもう一つよくない。
Taiguu ga ii desuga, kyuuryou ha mou hitotsu yokunai.
The treatment is good, but the salary is not good.

病気は今ひとつ治らない。
Byouki ha ima hitotsu naoranai.
The disease is still not cured.

外見がいいですが、背がもう一つ高くない。
Gaiken ga ii desuga, se ga mou hitotsu takakunai.
That person has good appearance but not very tall.

このドレスは色がいいですが、値段はいまひとつ安くない。
Kono doresu ha iro ga ii desuga, nedan ha imahitotsu yasukunai.
This dress has good color, but the price is not cheap.

今日のテレビ番組はもう一つ面白くない。
Kyou no terebi bangumi ha mou hitotsu omoshirokunai.
Today’s TV show is not very interesting.
