Meaning and how to use :
Used to describe general estimation when you want to the time, length… It is also attached after questioning words to ask for a general level, or is attached after the words 「こ れ 、 そ れ 、 あ れ」 to describe the specific magnitude.
Examples:
家から駅まで10分くらいかかります。
Ie kara eki made juubun kurai kakarimasu.
It takes about 10 minutes from the house to the station.
この木の高さは10メートルくらいだ。
Kono Ki no taka-sa wa juu meitoru kuraida.
The height of this tree is about 10 meters.
ここから学校まで2キロメートルくらいだろう。
Koko kara gakkou made ni kirometoru kuraidarou.
It is about 2 kilometers from here to the school.
あの建物は18階くらいあります。
Ano tatemono wa juu hachi-kai kurai arimasu.
This building has about 18 floors.
この本は500ページくらいあります。
Kono Moto wa 500 peiji kurai arimasu.
This book has about 500 pages.
