Meaning and how to use :

1. Means “It’s not that bad”, following clause belittles the thing that is said

For example

Nihongo ga jouzu de ha nai ga, tesuto ha 50 ten ika o totta mono de mo nai.
Though my Japanese isn’t so good, it’s not too bad under 50 points

karada ga hontouni yowai desu ga, ichi zero zero metoru hashitte tsukare ta mono de mo nai.
My body is weak, but I’m not so tired after 100m of running.

kare ga kirai desu ga, waruguchi o itta mono de mo nai.
I really hate him, but I dont ever say bad about him.

2. Shyness, unsure affirmation. Means “not completly late”. This is an old, solemn ways of speaking, almost same with “Vなくてもない”

For example

tasuke nai mono de mo nai desu ga, tasukerare nai desu yo.
It’s not because I don’t help you, but I cant.

muzukashii keredo, isshokenmei ni sure ba, deki nai mono de mo nai daro u
Though it’s hard, it’s not impossible if we do it with effortness

chotto tsukareru kamo shire nai ga, hashittara ike nai mono de mo nai.
It can be somehow tiring, but if we run, it isn’t impossible to come there.
