Formation :

Aな+そうにしている
Aい(bỏ い)+そうにしている

Meaning and how to use :

To express someone doing something while looking like.. This structure is used after an adjective describing feelings.

Examples:

1. 娘が恥ずかしそうにして、私と自分の好きな人を述べている。
Musume ga hazukashi sou ni shi te, watashi to jibun no suki na hito o nobe te iru.
My daughter speaks of her crush with a shy look.

2. 皆は楽しそうにして、一緒にとなりの人を抱いて歌っている。
Mina ha tanoshi sou ni shi te, issho ni tonari no hito o dai te utatte iru.
Everyone looks cheerful, holding the one next to them and sing.

3. 彼は愁そうにして私が何か悪いことをしたようにじっと見る。
Kare wa Shu-so ni shite watashi ga nanika waruikoto o shita yō ni jitto miru.
He looks sad and stared at me like I did something wrong.

4. あの人は気分が悪そうにしている。
Ano hito ha kibun ga waru sou ni shi te iru.
He looks like he’s in bad mood.

5. 先生は夢中そうにして、日本の歴史を教えていた。
Sensei ha muchuu sou ni shi te, nippon no rekishi o oshie te i ta.
The teacher looks energetic while teaching Japan’s history.

Note:
Can replace “そうだ” with “そうにしている” but doing so lose the entire meaning of “doing something”
