Meaning and how to use :
This structure is used to quote the suggestions and commands indirectly.
Example:
私は社長にイギリスへ出張するように言われます。
Watashi ha shachou ni igirisu e shucchou suru youni iwaremasu.
I was told to go on a business trip to England by the president.
高橋さんに早く事務所に来るように言ってください。
Takahashi san ni hayaku jimusho ni kuru you ni ittekudasai.
Please tell Mr. Takahashi to quickly come to the office.
佐藤さんにこの資料をコッピするように言ってくれないか。
Satou san ni konoshiryou wo koppi suru youni ittekurenai ka.
Could you please tell Mrs. Sato to copy this material?
彼女に小包が届いたように伝えてください。
Kanojo ni kozutsumi ga todoita youni tsutaetekudasai.
Please tell her that the package arrived.
妹に家に早く帰らないように伝えてくれないか。
Imouto ni ie ni hayaku kaeranai you ni tsutaetekurenai ka.
Could you please tell my sister not to go home early?
