Expresses the meaning “The quantity is maximum, can’t be higher”.
For example

私はやっと100点を取れた。うれしいことか。
watakushi ha yatto ichi rei rei ten wo tore ta ureshii koto ka
I got the maximum point, 100 points. I’m so happy.

やっと最後の3月も過ごした。新年はもうすぐ来る。
yatto saigo no sangatsu mo sugoshi ta shinnen ha mousugu kuru
The last 3 months have finally gone by. New year is going to come soon.

俺はやっと200メートル泳げました。
ore ha yatto ni rei rei metoru oyoge mashi ta
I have finally been able to swim for 200 meters.

彼女は一生必死に働いて、やっと1億円も節約されました。
kanojo ha isshou hisshi ni hatarai te yatto ichi oku en mo setsuyaku sa re mashi ta
She’s worked hard for the whole life and saved  100 000 000 yens at last.

やっと二台の車を買えました。
yatto ni dai no kuruma wo kae mashi ta
I have finally bought 2 cars.
