Examples

彼は大きいミスをしたけど何気ないふうにしています。
Kare wa ookii misu wo shitakedo nanigenai fuu ni shite imasu.
He made a big mistake but acted like nothing happened.

彼女は実は何も知らないが、知っているふうにしています。
Kanojo wa jitsuwa nani mo shiranai ga, shitte iru fuu ni shite imasu.
She really doesn’t know anything but pretends as if she knew it.

あの人は田中さんをとても嫌いますが、いつも仲がいいふうにしています。
Ano hito wa Tanakasan wo totemo kiraimasuga, itsumo nakagaii fuu ni shite imasu.
He hates Tanaka very much, but he always seems to be friendly.

有希ちゃんは気に入らないが、友達を悲しませたくないから好きなふうにしています。
Yukichan wa kiniiranai ga, tomodachi wo kanashima setakunaikara sukina fuu ni shite imasu.
Yuki doesn’t like it but she doesn’t want to upset you, she acts as if she did.

彼は自分がつまらない人だとわかっているのに、面白いふうにしています。
Kare wa jibun ga tsumaranai hitoda to wakatte iru no ni, omoshiroi fuu ni shite imasu.
He knows he is a boring person but he acts as if he was interesting person.
