Meaning and how to use :

Describe the meaning “Although something reached the point”. It is often used in the extreme cases.

Example:

社会人になるいたっても、まだ自分の将来がよく分からない人が多いです。
Shakaijin ni naru itattemo, mada jibun no shourai ga yoku wakaranai hito ga ooi desu.
Although they are about to become members of society, there are many people who still do not figure out their futures.

親になるにいたっても、自分の子供のために行動しない人がいます。
Oya ni naru ni iattetemo, jibun no kodomo no tameni koudou shinai hito ga imasu.
Although they are about to become parents, there are people who don’t do anything for their children.

会社は倒産したにいたっても社長は自分の責任を受けません。
Kaisha ga tousan shita ni itattemo shachou ha jibun no sekinin wo ukemasen.
Although the company went bankrupt, the president does not take the responsibility for it.

あの子は誰の進めを聞かないことにしました。両親にいたってもそうだ。
Ano ko ha dare no susume wo kikanaikoto ni shimashita. Ryoushin niitattemo souda.
That child decided not to listen to anyone’s advice, even his/her own parents.

彼女は自分の子供にいたっても叱るなんて私たちを許さないだろう。
Kanojo ha jibun no kodomo ni itattemo shikaru nante watashi tachi wo yurusanai darou.
Even her child is scolded by her, so maybe she won’t forgive us.
