Let’s learn Japanese そうだ grammar souda :

Formation :

Vます(bỏ ます)+そうだ

Vます(remove ます)+そうだ

Meaning and how to use :

This structure express that an action might take place. It is only used for subject that is third person and is not used to talk about yourself.

Example:

こんな状況が続けると彼はやめそうだ。
Konna joukyou ga tsuzukeruto kare ha yame souda.
He is likely to quit if this situation continues.

あの二人は私の意見に賛成そうだ。
Ano futrari ha watahsi no iken ni sansei sou da.
Those two people seem to agree with my opinion.

田中さんは皆の決定に反対しそうだ。
Tanaka san ha mina no kettei ni hantai shisou da.
Mr. Tanaka seems to oppose the decision of everyone.

有希ちゃんはどこかに遊びに行きました。でも、今帰れなかったら私の注意を忘れそうだ。
Yuki chan ha dokoka ni asobi ni ikimashita. demo, ima kaerenakattara watashi no chuui wo wasuresouda.
Yuki went to play somewhere. But she hasn’t returned yet, she seems to forget my warning.

3時間も待っていました。あの人は私との約束をキャンセルそうだ。
Sanjikan mo matteimashita. anohuto ha watahsi to no yakusoku wo kyanseru souda.
I have been waiting for 3 hours. That person seems to cancel the appointment with me.
