1. Express the meaning “also”
私は学生です。山田さんも学生です
watashiha gakusei desu. Yamadasan mo gakusei desu
I am a student. Yamada is also a student
歌は芸術です。絵も芸術です。
utaha geijutsu desu. e mo geijutsu desu.
Songs are art. Drawings are also art.
2. List the same things, express the meaning of “both …”:
このパーティーには、先輩も後輩もいる
kono pa-thi- niha, senpaimo kouhaimo iru
There are both seniors and juniors at this party.
リンゴもバナナも好きです
ringo mo banana mo sukidesu.
I like both apples and bananas.
3. Used to supplement, express the meaning “also”
この店は洋服はもちろんが、和服も売っていますよ
konomiseha youfukuha mochironga, wafukumo utteimasuyo
