Describe the mood when we really want to do something. “wish sb can…/ If only….”.
For example
その問題を早く解決しないものだろうか。
Sono mondai o hayaku kaiketsu shi nai mono daro u ka.
I wish I can cope with this problem faster.
知り合いの誰かに頼まないものだろうか。
shiriai no dareka ni tanoma nai mono daro u ka.
If only I could ask someone I know for help.
彼が言った方法のとおりに宿題をやらないものだろうかと考えている。
kare ga itta houhou no toori ni shukudai o yara nai mono daro u ka to kangae te iru.
I’m considering if I can sovle this excercise by his way.
外はすぐに雨が止まないものだろうか。
soto ha sugu ni ame ga yama nai mono daro u ka.
If only it stopped rain right now.
A:上司は同意しないものだろうか。
B:説明しても彼が同意しようもないよ。
A : joushi ha doui shi nai mono daro u ka.
B : setsumei shi te mo kare ga doui shi you mo nai yo.
A: Did the boss disagree?
B: I explained, but he didn’t agree.
Note:
+) In cases where “と考える” is at the end, it can be interpreted as “considering whether can do it or not”. (Example 3)
+) Someetimes it can be interpreted as a way to politely make suggestion. (Example 5)
