JLPT N4 Grammar lesson 10. Hi everyone! In this article, LearnJapanesedaily will introduce to you the JLPT N4 Grammar. Each lesson will consist of about 5 structures for you to learn step by step and have more time to practice.

Grammar structure number 46 :

~はずがない

Formation :

Vる/た+はずがない

Explanation :

can’t, can’t be, unbelieveable
express utmost doubt of the speaker

Example and meaning :

1.彼女(かのじょ)はそんなことをするはずがない。
There’s no way she could have done that.
2.友達(ともだち)の言(い)うことを信(しん)じるはずがない。
I couldn’t trust my friend’s words.

Grammar structure number 47 :

~はずです

Formation :

Vる/た+はずです

Explanation :

definitely, certainly..

Example and meaning :

1.負(ま)けたら苦(くる)しむはずです。
If lose, I’ll definitely be very sad.
2.ドアを閉(し)めたはずです。
I’m certain it’s closed.

Grammar structure number 48 :

~みたい

Formation :

Vる/Vた+みたい
N+みたい

Explanation :

look like, seem like..

Example and meaning :

1.彼(かれ)のはなしは事実(じじつ)みたいだ。
His story seem to be true.
2.バスが遅(おく)れるみたいな。
Looking the bus is running late.

Grammar structure number 49 :

~もななら~

Formation :

V (可能性)/ Vよう+ものなら

Explanation :

if describe wishes that are hard to become true
or conditions that are likely to happen

Example and meaning :

1.人生(じんせい)をやり直(なお)せるものならやり直(なお)したい。
If I can live again, I’ll do it again.
2.こどももころ、テストの点(てん)は悪(わる)かろうものなら。父(ちち)になぐられたものだ。
When I was a child, every time I got bad grades my father hit me.

Grammar structure number 50 :

~もの~

Formation :

Vる/Vた + もの
N だ+もの
Aい+もの
Aな+だもの

Explanation :

because ~

to argue or to give reason

Example and meaning :

1.すしを食(た)べられなくて、きらいなんだもの。
I can’t eat Sushi because I hate it.
2.まだ子供(こども)だもん、許(ゆる)させてもいい。
He’s just a child can you forgive him?
