Vるところです
Meaning : be about to do something
Usage : describes that a person is about to start doing something or something is about to start.
Example :
私はご飯を食べるところです。
Watashi wa gohan o taberu tokoro desu.
I’m about to have meal.
Vているところです
Meaning : be doing something
Usage : describes that a person is now doing an action or an action is now being done.
Example :
私はごはんをたべているところです。
Watashi wa gohan o tabete iru tokoro desu.
I’m having meal.
Vたところです
Meaning : have just done something
Usage : describes that a person has just finished an action or an action has just been completed.
Example :
私はご飯を食べたところです。
Watashi wa gohan o tabeta tokoro desu.
I have just had meal.
Vたばかりです
Meaning : just did something, something just happened
Usage : describes that something happened before present time not long ago.
Example :
先月この会社に入ったばかりです。
Sengetsu kono kaisha ni haitta bakari desu.
I just joined this company last month.
Vる/Vない/Adj/ Nの + はずです
Meaning : surely ~
Example :
明日私は行くはずです。
Ashita watashi wa iku hazu desu.
I surely go tomorrow.
この問題は正しいはずです。
Kono mondai wa tadashii hazu desu.
This exercise is absolutely right.
4. Kaiwa
もうすぐ 着く はずです
係員：はい、ガスサービスセンターで ございます。
Kakariin: Hai, gasu saabisu sentaa degozaimasu.
タワポン：あのう、ガスレンジの 調子が おかしいんですが・・・。
Tawapon: Anou, gasurenji no choushi ga okashiin desuga…
係員：どんな 具合ですか。
Kakariin: Donna guai desuka.
タワポン：先週 直した ばかりなのに、また 火が すぐ 消えて しまうんです。危ないので、早く 見に 来て くれませんか。
Tawapon: Senshuu naoshita bakari na noni, mata hi ga sugu kiete shimaun desu. Abunai node, hayaku mi ni kite kuremasenka.
係員：わかりました。5時ごろには 行けると 思います。ご住所と お名前を お願いします。
Kakariin: Wakarimashita. 5 ji goro ni wa ikeru to omoimasu. Gojuusho to onamae o onegaishimasu.

タワポン：もしもし、5時ごろに ガスレンジを 見に 来て くれる はずなんですが、まだですか。
Tawapon: Moshimoshi, 5 ji goro ni gasurenji o mi ni kite kureru hazunan desuga, mada desuka.
係員：すみません。どちら様でしょうか。
Kakariin: Sumimasen. Dochirasama deshouka.
タワポン：タワポンと いいます。
Tawapon: Tawapon to iimasu.
係員：ちょっと お待ち ください。係員に 連絡しますから。
Kakariin: Chotto omachi kudasai. Kakariin ni renraku shimasukara.

係員：お待たせしました。今 そちらに 向かって いる ところです。あと 10分ほど お待ち ください。
Kakariin: Omataseshimashita. Ima sochira ni mukatte iru tokoro desu. Ato 10 pun hodo omachi kudasai.
Translation :
He should be there soon
Man at Gas Service Center: Hello, Gas Service Center.
Thawaphon: Er, there’s a problem with my gas stove….
Man: What seems to be the trouble?
Thawaphon: Well, although you only fixed it last week, the flame goes out right away. It’s dangerous, so could you come and fix it soon?
Man: I see. We’ll be there around five. May I have your name and address?

Thawaphon: Hello. A man was supposed to be coming here around five o’clock to check my gas stove. Isn’t he coming?
Man: I’m sorry. Who is this, please?
Thawaphon: My name is Thawaphon.
Man: Hold a moment. I’ll contact our repairman.

Man: Sorry to have kept you waiting. He is heading for your place now. He’ll be there in about 10 minutes.
