3. Grammar
Conditional form:
Meaning : If ~ then ~
How to conjugate :
Group I: we change [い] column into [え] column and add ば.
歩きます → あるけば
いそぎます → いそげば
いいます → いえば
Group II: remove ます and add れば
たべます → たべれば
みる → みれば
Group III: します becomes すれば
来ます becomes くれば
A い: remove い and add ければ
たかい → たかければ
あつい → あつければ
A な: remove な and add なら
Noun : add なら
きれい → きれいなら
あめ → あめなら
N なら、 ~~
Meaning : If it’s N, then…
Usage : Describe information about the topic that the partner in conversation mentioned earlier.
Example :
旅行を行きたいんですがどこかいいところありませんか
ryokou wo ikitain desuga doko ka ii tokoro arimasen ka.
I want to travel, is there anywhere fine?
旅行なら、日本がいいですよ。
Ryokou nara nihon ga ii desu yo
If you want to travel, Japan is great.
Interrogative word V(in conditional form) いいですか
Meaning : What should I do….
Usage : Want the listener to give advice or command
Example :
コーヒーを飲みたいんですがどうすればいいですか
ko-hi- wo nomitain desu ga dousureba ii desuka.
I want to drink coffee, what should I do?
V/ Adj (in conditional form) + V/Adj (in dictionary form) + ほど ~
Meaning :the more ~~ the more ~~
Example :
音楽は聞けば、聞くほどすきになります。
Ongaku ha kikeba kiku hodo suki ni narimasu.
The more I listen to music, the more I like it.
4. Kaiwa
旅行社へ 行けば わかります。
ryokou sha he ike ba wakari masu.
タワポン： 鈴木さん、冬休みに 友達と スキーに 行きたいんですが、どこか いい 所、ありませんか。
Tawapon: suzuki san, fuyuyasumi ni tomodachi to sukī ni iki tain desu ga, doko ka ii tokoro, ari masen ka.
鈴木： 何日ぐらいの 予定ですか。
Suzuki: nan nichi gurai no yotei desu ka.
タワポン： 3日ぐらいです。
Tawapon: 3 nichi gurai desu.
鈴木： それなら、草津か 志賀高原が いいと 思いますよ。温泉も あるし･････。
Suzuki: sorenara, kusatsu ka shigakougen ga ii to omoi masu yo. onsen mo aru shi……
タワポン： どうやって 行くんですか。
Tawapon: dou yatte ikun desu ka.
鈴木： JRでも 行けますが、夜行バスなら、朝 着きますから、便利ですよ。
Suzuki: jr demo ike masu ga, yakou basu nara, asa tsuki masu kara, benri desu yo.
タワポン： どちらが 安いんですか。
Tawapon: dochira ga yasuin desu ka.
鈴木： さあ･････。旅行社へ 行けば もっと 詳しい ことが わかります。
Suzuki: saa…… ryokou sha he ike ba motto kuwashii koto ga wakari masu.
タワポン： それから、スキーの 道具や 服は 何も 持って いないんですが･････。
Tawapon: sorekara, suki- no dougu ya fuku ha nani mo motte i nain desu ga……
鈴木： 全部 スキー場で 借りられますよ。
Suzuki: zenbu suki- jou de karirare masu yo.
鈴木： 心配なら、旅行社で 予約も できるし･････。
Suzuki: shinpai nara, ryokou sha de yoyaku mo dekiru shi……
タワポン： そうですか。どうも ありがとう ございました。
Tawapon: sou desu ka. doumo arigatou gozai mashi ta.
Translation:
You’ll understand if you go to a travel agency
Thawaphon: Mr. Suzuki, I want to go skiing with my friends during the winter vacation, is there a good place?
Suzuki: How many days are you going to go skiing?
Thawaphon: About 3 days.
Suzuki: In that case, I think Kusatsu or Shiga Kogen is good. There is also a hot spring.…….
Thawaphon: How do I get there?
Suzuki: You can go by JR, but if you take a night bus, you will arrive there in the morning, so it is convenient.
Thawaphon: Which one is cheaper?
Suzuki: Well…. You can find out more details if you go to a travel agency.
Thawaphon: And I don’t have any ski equipment or ski clothes….
Suzuki: You can hire everything at the ski resort. If you are worried, you can make a reservation at the travel agency……..
Thawaphon: Is that so. Thank you very much.
