Meaning and how to use :
1. Describes direction, means ”face mentioned side”
For example
南向きなアパートを買いたい。
Minami muki na apāto o kai tai.
I want to buy an apartment facing south.
あの白いビルに行きたかったら、左向きに行ってください。
ano shiroi biru ni iki takattara, hidarimuki ni itte kudasai
If you want to come to that white building, turn left.
私たちの旅行は北向きを向いて、出発することになる。
watashi tachi no ryokō wa kita muki o mui te, shuppatsu suru koto ni naru.
Our trip heads north and will start.
2. Suitable, cut out for mentioned object. About negative form of ”向き” we can say ”不向きだ” replace ”向きでない”
For example
子供向きの本を探している。
kodomo muki no hon o sagashi te iru.
I’m looking for books that is cut out for children.
その青いスカートは彼女のようなスマートな人向きだ。
sono aoi sukāto wa kanojo no yō na sumāto na hito muki da.
This dress is suitable with slim person like her.
この便利な弁当は忙しい人向きだ。
kono benri na bentō wa isogashii hito muki da.
This convenient set meal is suitable with busy people.
