Meaning and how to use :
Expresses the meaning: “Doesn’t necessary to ~/Don’t have to~/ not to the point that you have to ~”.
Examples:
そんなに簡単な問題、ほかの人に聞くまでもなく自分でもやれるだろう。
Sonnani kantan na mondai, hoka no hito ni kiku made mo naku jibun demo yareru daro u.
Such simple problem like this, you don’t have to ask other people but you can do it yourself.
この仕事のような小さい仕事は上司の命令をもらうまもなく勝手にしてください。
Kono shigoto no you na chiisai shigoto ha joushi no meirei o morau mamonaku katte ni shi te kudasai.
For such simple work like this, you don’t have to have orders from the boss and instead you should do it yourself.
みなの意見を参考するまでもない。自分で結論を出してください。
Mina no iken o sankou suru made mo nai. Jibun de ketsuron o dashi te kudasai.
There’s no need to ask for everyone’s opinion. Please draw your own conclusion.
そのやさしい宿題を何度も練習するまでのこともない。
Sono yasashii shukudai o nan do mo renshuu suru made no koto mo nai.
For such simple assignment like this, you don’t have to do it many times over again.
僕は病気にかかっているが、病院にいくまでもないよ。
Boku ha byouki ni kakatte iru ga, byouin ni iku made mo nai yo.
I am ill, but I do not necessarily have to go to the hospital.
