Meaning and how to use :
1. Describe the meaning “whenever someone think about/see something…. he/she always…”. This structure often goes after 「見る、聞く、思う」 The second clause often expresses feeling, emotion. This is an idiomatic structure.
Usage: Vるにつけ
For example
この曲を聞くにつけ、故郷を思い出す。
Kono kyoku o kiku nitsuke, kokyou o omoidasu.
Whenever I listen to thhisss song, I miss my hometown.
子供のおもちゃを見るにつけ、小さい頃が懐かしい。
kodomo no omocha o miru nitsuke, chiisai koro ga natsukashii.
Whenever I see a toy of a kid, I think of my childhood.
2. Usage: Nにつけ
For example
何かにつけ、彼女は私のことについて悪口を言います。
nani ka ni tsuke, kanojo ha watashi no koto nitsuite waruguchi o ii masu.
She backbites me whenever she has a chance.
何事ににつけ、あの人は優しいふりをするが、実はとても悪人ですよ。
nanigoto ni nitsuke, ano hito ha yasashii furi o suru ga, jitsuha totemo akunin desu yo.
He’s always making as if he’s gentle, but he’s really cruel.
3. Kết hợp với hai nội dung đối lập, ngược nhau để diễn tả ý nghĩa “Even though in this case or another one, it always…”. It’s speaking is idiomatic.

ayamaru nitsuke ayamara nai nitsuke watashi ha yurushi mase n yo.
I won’t forgive you even though you apologize or not.
安いにつけた買いにつけABC社の商品ならぜひ買う。
yasui ni tsuke ta kai nitsuke eibīshī sha no shouhin nara zehi kau.
If it’s the ABC company’s product, I’ll buy it anyway.
