N+すら…ない

Meaning and how to use :

Expresses the meaning “An action that worth.., is valuable, efficient, should be repayed..”. Only used with limited verbs.
If the speaker wanting to say that the action is difficult or requires effort, the structure would mean that the efforts should be respected and valuable.

Examples:

今、生きがいを探している。
Ima, ikigai o sagashi te iru.
Now, I’m looking for my reason to live.

彼女は優秀な人なので、働きがいのある仕事でなければどんなに給料が高くてもぜったいに働きません。
Kanojo ha yuushuu na hito na node, hatarakigai no aru shigoto de nakere ba donnani kyuuryou ga takaku te mo zettai ni hataraki mase n.
She is an excellent person, so she can not work no matter how high her salary is unless it is a work that is worthwhile.

それはやりがいのある仕事じゃない。
Sore ha yarigai no aru shigoto ja nai.
That is a job that worth to do.

こんなにいい物でも安い。買いがいのあるものだ。
Konna ni ii mono de mo yasui. Kai gai no aru mono da.
This thing is so cheap even when looking so good. Such a valuable buy.

彼は生きがいを無くしまして、自殺しました。
Kare ha ikigai o nakushi mashi te, jisatsu shi mashi ta.
He lost his reason to live so he commited suicide.
