Meaning and how to use :

Expresses the meaning “Can’t not feel.., can’t hold..”. Expresses the meaning “Despite being suppressed, the feelings are still there”.

Examples:

君の態度に怒りを禁じえない。
Kimi no taido ni ikari o kinjie nai.
I can’t bear with your attitude.

あの子供たちの苦労さに感動を禁じえない。
Ano kodomo tachi no kurou sa ni kandou o kinjie nai.
I can’t hold my emotion before those child’s sufferings.
Tôi không thể kìm được cảm động trước sự khổ cực của đám trẻ đó.

彼女の困る状況に同情を禁じえない。
Kanojo no komaru joukyou ni doujou o kinjie nai.
I can’t not sympathize with her difficult situations.

娘の大学に合格したニュースに喜びを禁じえない。
Musume no daigaku ni goukaku shi ta nyusu ni yorokobi o kinjie nai.
I can’t hold my feeling of happiness when I heard my daughter got into a university.

大統領の発言に義憤を禁じえない。
Daitouryou no hatsugen ni gifun o kinjie nai.
I can’t hold my anger when I hear the president’s speech.
