Meaning and how to use :
Describe someone, something do things that as usual should have been done by another. Means “Instead of..”
For example
課長にかわり、僕と山田さんは客と相談に行きます。
Kachou ni kawari, boku to yamada san ha kyaku to soudan ni iki masu.
Instead of leader, I and Yamada negotiated with the customer.
Aが私にテストの勉強を教えてくれたので、今度Aさんにかわりレポートを書きます。
A ga watashi ni tesuto no benkyou o oshie te kure ta node, kondo A san ni kawari repōto o kaki masu.
Because A taught me to study, do I’ll help him to write the report
兄にかわり、私は家庭の経営を受け入れます。
ani ni kawari, watashi ha katei no keiei o ukeire masu.
