Nやなにか

Meaning and how to use :

Expresses the meaning “the same, equivalent to”. While「Nかなにか」means 「Nのようなもの」 , 「Nやなにか」means in addition to N, there are other things. This structure in many cases goes with the assistant words.
Examples

寂しい時やなにかであの人はずっと私のそばにいる。
sabishii toki ya nani ka de ano hito ha zutto watakushi no soba ni iru
While I’m lonely or something, that person stays by my side all the time.

天気が悪い日やなにかで頭が痛くなる。
tenki ga warui hi ya nani ka de tsumuri ga itaku naru
In bad weather days or something like that, my head gets hurt.

絶望のときや何かこの歌を聞いている。
zetsubou no toki ya nan ka kono uta wo kii te iru
Whenever I am in despair or something like that, I listen to this song.

体がだるいときや何かこの飲み物を飲んですぐ気が出します。
tei ga darui toki ya nan ka kono nomimono wo non de sugu ki ga dashi masu
Whenever my body is tired or something like that, I drink this, then I immediately get better.

やめたい気がする時や何か街をうろうろしてリラックスします。
yame tai ki ga suru toki ya nan ka machi wo urouro shi te rirakkusu shi masu
Whenever I want to give up or something, I often go around in town and relax.

Note: In informal speaking, it becomes「やなんか」
