Meaning and how to use :
Describe the meaning “Something new will happen at the stage of N”.
Example:
1. 貧乏にして家族の大切さが分かった。
Binbou ni shite kazoku no taisetsu sa ga wakatta.
As I became poor, I understood the importance of the family.
2. この歳にして息子の決定が分かった。
Kono sai ni shite musuko no kettei ga wakatta.
I understand my son’s decision at this age.
3. この状況にして、田中さんの役割の大切さに気付きます。
Konojoukyou ni shite, Tanaka san no yakuwari no taisetsusa ni kizukimasu.
In this situation, I realize the importance of Mr. Tanaka’s role.
4. 金持ちにして権力がどんなに得するか分かった。
Kanemochi ni shite kenryoku ga donna ni tokusuru ka wakatta.
I knew how much power I get as I became rich.
5. こんな場合にして自分のしたことがぜんぶ無理だと分かりました。
Konna baai ni shite jibun no shita koto ga zenbu muri da to wakarimashita.
In such a case, I realized that everything I did was impossible.
Note: It is most used in the form of 「Nにしてようやく」、「Nにして初めて」
